Our intrepid Members were undaunted as they ventured out in what at times felt like a monsoon to participate in our fourth PHS Builder Architect Hard-Hat Tour of the year. We began in Naperville at Member Ryan Siebert’s (SG Home Builders) 3,500 sf new home project at drywall stage. Though it’s a spec home, he collaborated with the very talented architect Joseph Drendel and designer Lauren Collander (Lauren Collander Designs)to bring in a wow factor above and beyond what one might expect. Lauren guided us through the rooms, where she provided renderings, photos, and material samples so that we could all share in their vision. It is sure to be gorgeous!

We then headed to Burr Ridge where we toured a stunning, nearly complete, custom home project presented by Member Leslie Bowman (The Design Bar) Leslie oversaw the selection of almost every detail throughout. From exterior and interior materials, to paint colors and furnishings, and everything in between, her keen design eye is showcased from top to bottom. The pops of bold color and unique materials (leather floor!) are fabulous and fun. Speaking of fabulous, builder Bill McNaughton and Architect Michael Buss shared one of the highlights of the project; a huge golf simulation area in the basement! Leslie and her team also did design work for 4 of the homes in the same cud-de-sac. Look for her new 7,000 sf Burr Ridge showroom opening by the end of the year.

We completed our evening with Cocktails and Speed Networking at the newly remodeled Cambria showroom in Des Plaines where we were hosted by Member Jennifer Glomb and her team, Tiffany and Lindsey. The lite bites were exceptional and the synergy in the room even more so. Jennifer led the group through a tour highlighting Cambria’s newest designs (with new finishes!) and then we broke down into hand selected groups for more focused engagement. There was laughter heard throughout as ideas and business cards were exchanged. When one group facilitator yelled “we want more time!” we knew it was success.
